4.   This is the main pontoon of Kirkwall Marina.

You can see The Kirkwall Hotel, the most prominent landmark on the Kirkwall waterfont, in the background. It is a family-run business situated in one of Orkney's finest Victorian buildings.

We stayed in the Ayre Hotel, said to be 'one of Orkney's finest hotels', situated in a picturesque location overlooking Kirkwall Bay. We got a sea-view room, although the view was more of the harbour and not particularly picturesque.
