New Broadblue Catamaran launched

Broadblue Catamarans has announced its first new design for 2007 - the Broadblue 415. Positioned squarely between the company’s highly acclaimed Broadblue 385 and the Broadblue 435, the company anticipates exceptional demand for the yacht.

According to the firm, the Broadblue 415 features the same intrinsic standards of her sister yachts, and is based on the proven and very successful design of the 435 model. It says that the 415 will boast more accommodation than the Broadblue 385 and less complexity than the Broadblue 435.

It is priced at £219,995 ex VAT.

After considerable research, Broadblue has selected the Ossa Powerlite propulsion system as an option on its forthcoming range of boats and the 415 will be the first in the line to be available with this outstanding diesel electric drive system. While other electric motor drives are available, the Ossa Powerlite offers a host of advantages such as providing a generator without added cost, sufficient to run a full DC/AC system including air conditioning.

The small, Mercedes Smart Car engine drives a 25KW 240VDC generator which then drives two 35hp water cooled electric motors thereby not relying on batteries and being capable of running constantly at near half the fuel cost of standard engines and even better performance. A whisper quiet, highly cost effective and eco friendly alternative to diesel engines.

The accommodation will be extremely spacious and comfortable with the choice of two superb layouts, says Broadblue: either the owner’s version with a fully enclosed hull for totally private accommodation and a practical 4 cabin 4 head layout, or for charter boats two additional single berths forward can be included, to give up to 10 berths.

To celebrate the launch, Broadblue has announced a special promotion offer price of £209,995 ex vat for the first two boats sold.
