As part of its promotional strategy for developing the Irish Marine Leisure Industry the Irish Marine Federation (IMF) has announced details of the first On The Water Boat Show and its sponsor Lombard.

Titled the Lombard On The Water Boat Show 2006, this IMF event will take place in Malahide Marina, Malahide Co. Dublin from 28th April to 1st May and will be the largest showcase of boats ever shown at a Boat Show in Ireland. RYA Spring Series results from Grafham Water

Grafham Water Sailing Club played host to the RYA Olympic Classes Spring Series’ second event this weekend (18-19 March), with Bryony Shaw and Richard Hamilton topping the RS:X fleet in the first domestic test of the new Olympic windsurf board.

Winner of the recent Rolex Miami Olympic Classes Regatta, Shaw mastered average wind speeds of between 11 and 16 knots over the weekend to score five bullets and dominate the six race series at the Cambridgeshire club, while RYA youth squad windsurfer Richard Hamilton finished a steady second in the RS:X fleet with nine points.

Marine Sector Development Funding Opportunity

SEMTA (Science, Engineering Manufacturing Technologies Alliance) is the Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies. An employer-led, UK wide charity owned by industry, it has been licensed by the Secretary of State for Education and Skills to spearhead the effort to improve the UK's productivity through improvements in its sector's skills base.
